Whats your favorite Mod? (University Research)

Post » Tue May 27, 2014 11:06 am

Hey guys,

Firstly sorry if i'm posting in the wrong section, if i am can a moderator please Move/Lock this thread :)

Now as for my question, Whats your favorite Skyrim Mod? Is it because of the theme? The story? The length? Perhaps it was a certain thing that was added or a reference made? I'd love to know what your favorite is and why!

The reason i'm asking this is for my final year project at university, Before we can start work on it we need to do background research, All your feedback will remain anonymous i'm just looking for some feedback into what the fan base look for in a mod :)

Any feedback long or short is greatly appreciated and i tip my hat to you~

It's hard to pick one and say "this is what I like most", especially since I don't install mods, just for the sake of modding.

But if you asked me about the mod I can't imagine myself playing without, I'd say the Unofficial Patches -followed closely by Run for your lives, When Vampires Attack and Cutting Room Floor.

Since I have become a Necromancer in Skyrim Mods, Freedom Of Speech.

I do not like Word Walls being tied to Faction Locked Dungeons.

Better Vampires. It's self-explanatory.

SkyUI, for fixing the game's otherwise terrible and scroll-heavy user interface.

Your questions make it seem that you are only considering quest mods. There are lots of kinds of mods. I suggest you browse the Nexus, because of its categorization as well as its posts accompanying every mod. You could much more efficiently and comprehensively answer your own question by sorting each category by most endorsed and then reading through comments until you get a thourough answer for the question why is this mod so loved?

I can't choose one favorite. The patches for fixing bugs, ESF Companions for breathing life into the Companions guild, most of Arthmoor's mods for adding things to improve the game, dozens of mods that add armor, weapons, jewelry etc. I could go on forever. Really any mod I keep long term must be stable, well-maintained, and enhance gameplay.

I'd say my favorite mods are the ones I use on a regular basis that integrate themselves into the experience originally intended, followed by the ones that improve on and expand on its intent (realism), followed by the ones that make it my own, like clothing and weapons.

You could also check the Nexus and look for the most endorsed or downloaded mods, if you want some actual data to work with
