A random question about Argonians.

Post » Mon Jun 02, 2014 6:12 pm

I always wondered, since there are some of them in the game and you can create one with feathers on their head, is it just for decoration? *Even so, how would they stay there?* Or are they born as such but just shed them as they get older? *aka, like certain dinosaurs*

Just a random thought  since there is little we know about Argonians.

I've never actually noticed that, so I can't really help. I would however be interested to hear the answer.

Who knows. I have always considered it to be like hair. Hist leaves sounds like something that could work

It's natural,it depends how much hist sap they ingest as a child.

I think it's both, technically. Leaf-like hair.

That's my headcanon, at least. It syncs up with Arena's depiction of Saxhleel (with their full heads of hair) and the cave paintings of tree-like Saxhleel from the novels.

M'aiq thinks Argonians are just jealous of Khajiit's fur, so that is probably why they are trying to get something furry.

Why shed them? Do you mean that Argonians do it or the dinosaurs did, or both?

I always assumed growing feathers is just one of many possible effects of the Hist sap.

The appearance of an argonian comes for how much Hist Sap they ingest as a child.

Saying why do they have feathers on their head is like saying "Why do humans have hair". It's just natural for the race to be able to have feathers

I see, I never cared for the MMO since they all end up the same.

Humans have hair for the warmth and to pretect from heat, so it's not really the same... especially if Argonians only get their feathers only from ingesting Hist Sap, instead of being hatched with them.

Thanks for the replies :D

ha silly ESO people, they're clearly feathers, especially since they come in different colors and the Hist tree in Morrowind had green leaves/needles. Take http://images.wikia.com/elderscrolls/ru/images/archive/e/ea/20120129143527!Talen-Jei.png for example, they may be green like leaves but they're obviously feathers.
