Posting here after having done a clean install, for verification. Searched the forums for related information, but my search-fu is apparently weak, and what I found, didn't list solutions. Skyrim and the Construction Kit were both downloaded through steam, using the CD Key for my physical disc. DLCs were not active at the time of testing, and I have not added any mods at this point in time. All Steam Workshop mods were unsubscribed, prior to re-installing Skyrim. EditorWarnings.txt lists the same errors I remember it having always had.
EditorWarnings.txt
Prior to re-installing, Skyrim ran fine under Ultra High, without issue, with a selection of 41 mods, including high resolution textures. CK loaded up fine, until I had to work in the render window. Moving the camera, panning, zooming and rotating work fine in any worldspace that may be considered "vanilla," and already in the game. Creating new worldspaces seems to work fine; panning, zooming, rotating the camera works fine, up until you begin editing the landscape. After (and only after) pulling up the landscape editor, making adjustments, and closing it, the CK will crash when moving the camera.
At this point, I updated my drivers and tried again, with the same result. Next, I checked the integrity of the total cache, for both Skyrim and the CK with no issue. Finally I preformed a clean install, and tried again with the same results.
On crashing, I am notified of a problem, and dumped to desktop. The EditorWarnings.txt is not updated with any information on the crash, and windows notification does not provide any information on the issue. Interestingly, despite EditorWarnings suggesting I check the Warnings file for more information, outside of EditorWarnings.txt, I have no other warnings file.
On a whim, I tried running Steam, Skyrim, and the CK under Windows 7 comparability mode, with and without "run as administrator" checked. No luck.
The CK runs just fine on my Windows 7 machine, however, I am prepping that up to give to someone, and will be reformatting it in the coming week.
Additionally, my search here, and google gave some similar results, however the resolution involved removing a .dll file from the ENB series of shader mods, which I don't have or currently use and certainly shouldn't be present after a clean install.
