death claws : Fallout Series Discussion

I've been playing fallout new vegas FINALLY finished the game. while in the midst of my explorations i had stumbled apon the sniper rifle. I am in no way at all qualified to handle one of those things in ANY video game world, or, at least i thought. i picked up that sniper rifle, headed to the quary and killed every last death claw even the mother all, by my self it was fantastic. so you ask me if im still afraid of death claws*stands on a hill staring at a death claw with a sniper,* *click goes the gun no shots are fired* ha, ha....sometimes. lol

Quary Junction is actually really over-rated I think, all you really have to do is climb to a spot where the deathclaws cant get to you (and there are plenty of them) and pick them off one by one. You can actually do it with a bb gun if you wanted to. But if im wandering the wastes and two or three claw's pop out from behind a rock just looking at me will I crap my pants? There's a pretty good chance, yes.

yes well i think anyone would i mean deathclaws arnt somthing to be taken lightly especially by beginner i feel bad for people who just go "GRAAAAAAAAH IM GONNA KILL YOU ALL AAAAAAh" then a death claw swipes their back and their like " GAAAH huh? OH CRAP RUN AWAY!!!" *sighs and raises hand* ive done that

They got up to where I was in Quarry Junction and killed me once. Then after I killed them all I ran out into the road where like 7 are at, I thought I was so hard, and they killed me. I got them all, but died twice. legondary deathclaw killed me once too. Knocked me down to 7hp the second time in 2 hits. From 430hp to 7hp in 2 hits. I m a walking tank?!?!

It's actually a bit of a pisser for me that after you completely clear out quarry junction nothing ever comes of it. The deathclaws continue to spawn along the road regardless of whether or not you do the quest.

Thats a good thing though, more kills to farm.

it was actually wasn't it? i mean i did it and i was like yaaaay i did it then...it was just like damn now what do i do? lol anyway i think the ones on the road are more dangerous then the ones in the quarry and, i know that their all ugly giant monster but tell me the young deathclaws just make you wanna laugh cause they think their so bad

AH, when i was a level 5... and i was walking down the road, and then a deathclaw comes at me, I jump up to a rock (which they couldn't come to or claw at me, doing so would get them glitched.) and i pulled out my trusty grenade launcher (modded with a long barrel) and fired three good grenades at the bastard, and killed him there. Yeah, I'm just cool like that with a grenade launcher, then i went to the atomic wrangler and got laid by a ghoul. :cool:

Well, I have never gone to Quarry Junction. I dont like fighting Deathclaws and only kill them if i have to. But the baby ones are so weak i just let them go.

i used to do that avoid them at all costs but once you do go into the quarry youll see its so simple especially if your armed to the teeth and can find a safe sniper range then youll be safe but watch out for mommy and killing the young death claws gets you booku amount of experince so i say KILL THEM ALL and then move on

The deathclaws in Fallout 3 stopped being hard after level 18-20, as for new vegas i hate fighting them i died soooo many times i refused to go anywhere near deathclaws until i found the old enclave armor thinking "yeah, i'll be able to get them now" (not knowing about jumping on the rocks) and got turned into canned baby deathclaw food.....i cried a little lol

there's a secret area across the river on the east lower side (basically go for a swim you'll find it eventually) there is a path that runs up to a plateau/valley FULL of the little beggars including a mother and alpha male ,the armour is on a dead prospector (who has a similarily dead prospector mate who is wearing a full set of t51 so two for the price of one if you survive) they are sort of on the north east of the area next to a rock.... take a couple of companions and a 50 cal anti material rifle and plenty of ammo ...they also respawn now and again so you can kill em again

theres 2 power armors up there.

a T51-b and an Advanced Power Armor. (but Just the armor, no helm, thats a different location)

It's not called Enclave Armor, but it's there, it's the remnant armor.

I wouldn't have even attempted that mission without the Sniper Rifle (and preferably Boon). I ended up doing that mission at lvl 16. Would I have been able to accomplish this otherwise? I would have to say no.

Just on the path from the river, ive been up and down there so many times looking for something they snuck into the game, because its always some place out of the way they put something in, and ive never seen that path, i went back after i read it in this thread and went over the area again and the terrain had changed it was basically all cliffs, and yes there are one or two or three or ten or more deathclaws, but i did like the armour i put the old enclave armour on straight away, loved it. But 2 deathclaw mothers and 2 deathclaw alpha males is a harsh fight.

Qurry is stupidly easy, promotory, well: stealthboy+fatman+minigun+evil screams on my end= [censored]in awsome!
