Do you tend to play only one race?

Post » Thu Jun 05, 2014 12:33 pm

Not to hate on any other races but ever since reading the A Dance in Fire series of books in Morrowind I have gravitated towards playing Wood Elves only. There is just something about them that I connect with in some way. Even now that I'm finally playing Skyrim I only play Bosmers no matter the type of character I decide to play. I know that can make some builds more difficult than others to play but I like the challenge.

Does anyone else tend to play just one race? If so what race?

Bretons.

Okay, no, I'm cheating cause I play all the races at least once per game(and I also like Khajiit, Bosmer and Argonians), but 90% of my characters are Bretons.

I like to spread my races out depending on the RP.

I don't hold any exclusivity to any race I play as, but I do tend to play human characters the most. Generally don't see the appeal in playing non-humans. Not because they can't be interesting, but because playing them makes them less interesting in my view. When I play them, it shows that they see the world the same way humans do, which defeats the point of having non-human races. It may be petty headcanon bs, but having a constant on-screen debunking of any and all possibility that they are actually different from humans in ways that are more than just superficial is a pretty big turn-off.

I'm not going to lie, I've never played a non human race. I should try sometime but it just doesn't appeal to me. I love the non human races but I'd rather experience them as an outsider than actually play as them.

In terms of individual races I often play red guard, I consider them my favourite but have no problem playing other human races.

Nerds-er-NORDS. Something just doesn't feel right to me when I play as any other race in Skyrim.

I did like to play as a dunmer because dunmer, telvanni, sujamma, Neloth, Dunmer etc. :P

I play Nords. I just lose interest playing any other Race in Skyrim.

I rarely have Redguard or Argonian characters, because I know so little about them. Bosmer are difficult to play because it's near impossible to cook anything without using vegetables, for some reason. Other than that, I'll play as any race. :)
