Quatloos, also known as Lord Devil in her capacity as a moderator on Morrowind Summit and later PlanetElderScrolls, was one of the most influential individuals in the TES3: Morrowind modding scene. As Quatloos, she provided critical reviews of countless mods, crafted several well known mods of her own, and was an active member of the modding community. As Lord Devil, she moderated the mod comment sections, doing her best to keep them free of rants, trolling, spam, and other abusive behavior.

My personal interactions with Quatloos were limited to the several invaluable reviews she made on a handful of my mods and then in playing her own mods. I never had the unfortunate experience of invoking the wrath of Lord Devil.

In 2008, we received this message from APY:

Soon after, a project to create a memorial tomb for Lord Devil/Quatloos was started by several members of the community; and was championed by Bryss Phoenix. Sadly, this project never reached completion and all progress ceased after several years.

Earlier this year, I reached out to Bryss to discover what happened with that project since it saddened me to see it incompleted. At first, I feared that reviving the memorial project might be less respectful than to let it lie incomplete. However, after speaking with Bryss and seeing her continued disappointment over the project's stagnation, I decided that completing the memorial would do more than just honor the memory of Lord Devil and Quatloos; it would provide closure to those who were acquainted enough with her to begin the initial mod project dedicated to her memory. So Bryss and I discussed the possibility of finally completing the memorial mod. Bryss offered many helpful insights and ideas which I used to move forward with my concept I had. I wanted to keep the atmosphere tranquil, relaxing, and contemplative; avoiding the inclusion of any tomb. And so I created a peaceful island with a small sanctuary and two memorials atop the island's summit.

Tonight I am sharing this memorial to Lord Devil and Quatloos with you, the Morrowind community. I hope that it brings you as much peace and satisfaction when you visit as it does to me.

To Lord Devil and Quatloos, your contributions have not been forgotten. I pray that you rest in peace.
