Serena annoying?

Post » Fri Jun 06, 2014 6:49 pm

Don't know why, but I find Serena to be excessively annoying. Sick of her voice and her subtle sarcasm. She's too polished for Skyrim; She should have a 1000 years worth of filth all over her face. And why is her face not all gnarly like the other vamps?

Just wondered if anyone else feels the same way?

She does have limited dialogue, buts its part of what a lot of players consider an unfinished game in the first place especially with NPC dialogue. As to her lack of "1000 years worth of filth all over her face" This is the reason >

Spoiler
Prophecy

Her father, Lord Harkon, is leader of the Volkihar vampire clan based in Castle Volkihar. He discovered an ancient prophecy called the Tyranny of the Sun which, if enacted, would allow Vampires to roam the world freely without the fear of weakness from the sun; but to do so, he required two Elder Scrolls, Auriel's Bow, and Serana for a ritual sacrifice.

In response to this, her mother hid her away with one of the Elder Scrolls in a sealed sarcophagus within Dimhollow Crypt for thousands of years to protect her from her father. She then fled to the Soul Cairn with the other Scroll.

http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/RuleOfCool and http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/RuleOfsixy, just like the rest of the game and RPGs in general.

IMO, i do not find her annoying at all.

Yes, she's too Hollywoodian. I wonder how many people purchased the DLC chiefly because they heard from friends on how she's hot and so unique when all she actually does is stealing people's jobs and accelerating your files' bloating.

She's vamp lord, dude.

Most vampires rules don't apply to her. Have you seen what vampire lord look like? Picture Serana like that whenever you see her.

We aren't told what state she's in when we unlock her. But the manner in which she falls forward onto her knees and appears to be disoriented suggests that she may have been in some form of suspended animation.

Myself, I did not find her any more annoying than any other follower I've used in any other video game I've ever played. All followers in all games can get annoying after you've heard their repertoire of remarks a few times.

Bethesda didn't spend enough time testing and refining her AI and inadvertently made an extremely annoying character. I recently played a game with the main character voiced by Laura Bailey, who played Serana, and it's amazing how much more pleasant her voice is when it's not used to nag you.

As for her appearance I don't think it's ever explained why some vampires get deformed faces and or glowing eyes and why the citizens of Skyrim are so dense that they can't spot a vampire.

I find her very annoying and the fact she has to tag along for most of the Dawnguard quests puts me off the DLC quite a bit. :( Which is a shame because its a great DLC. I just don't buy into the whole Serana fanbase.

She can become annoying, yes. For example, when she re-animates everything in sight or she repeats certain dialogue over and over it can get tiresome having her as a follower.
