Restartitis Aaaaahhh

Post » Sat Jun 07, 2014 12:21 am

I have extremely bad restartitis, but I think this is the first time ive had it for multiple games.

Yesterday I was planning a Fallout 3 character, this morning I wanted to play New Vegas, and now I am picking out mods for a Skyrim character.

How do you guys deal with the dreaded restart disease? The only character that ive stuck with for a long time has been in Fallout 3, I put 85 hours into a rugged explorer named Nigel. Maybe if I make the same type of character I can catch the contentness I experienced with him anew in Skyrim. Its such a shame that I restart so often, there are large sections of Skyrim as of yet unexplored by me. Ive never finished the main quest, never done Dawnguard or Dragonborn stuff, just keep restarting on new bloody characters...

Considering all 3 of those games are very similar, I wouldn't worry about it. I make new characters when a fresh idea comes to mind, but I don't necessarily stop playing a current character when i do.

I have DIDitis. Everytime my char dies, I have to start over :(

I just want to play and get a char to high level but I always die early and i feel forced to restart. I just want to reach the end and say " I SURVIVED! " Instead of " I should not really be here since I died "

Ohwell I had restartitis before and managed to overcome it by stop playing for a while. Although finding replacements can be difficult :P

I don't know about you, but I've concluded that my own case of restartitis (which sadly hit me recently) comes from one main reason: One moment I want to play as a warrior, and the other as a mage, assassin and anything inbetween.

The only cure that I know of, is to have a character that fills all roles, something I'm working on atm. I can even roleplay this guy, by looking at him as the kind of Dragonborn who sees the larger picture, beyond guilds and tight ethics.
