NOM issue

Post » Sun Jun 08, 2014 1:54 am

I got back into playing morrowind a few months ago, and one of the first mods I installed was NOM. Everything was fine for a while, but for the past month or so the NOM hunger, sleep and thirst penalties don't completely go away - I can fully rest, or fully eat and have the notice come up saying Im fully rested or w/e, but I'll still have a 5% minimum penalty. Then, when the hunger or sleep comes back, I have 2 penalties rather than one. Atm I have like 3 stacks of penalties for each status. Is there any way to force remove these?

As a side note, the construction set doesnt work on my laptop. Never has! I have the steam version of morrowind, not sure if this is why...either way, I cant edit anything or load the TESCS at all to try and find a fix!

Any help is appreciated! Love this game and don't want to have to set it aside again <3

First, make sure you are running the latest version of NoM: Version 3.03a. You have to install 3.0 first, then 3.01 patch over it, then 3.02 patch, then 3.03a on top. When it asks to replace anything, make sure you say, Yes.

Also, check to make sure NoM is running last in your load order. (Very important for issues exactly like yours.)

NoM starts best from the beginning of the game, so your best bet is starting it in a new game. If you have a save you particularly want to continue with, make sure you have Wyre Mash and read all the parts about how to avoid/get rid of doubling issues.

When NoM first plays, there is a long configuration script to determine which other mods you have that it interacts with. It will also ask for your preferences regarding: sleep, fatigue, eating method. If you just need to change your eating schedule, activate a campfire (you must buy it) or bedroll.

However, in your case, I suggest getting your penalties to 0 by eating, drinking, sleeping, and then re-running the configuration script from the console.

Quote from readme:

"The first time you use NoM, a configuration script will start. It will make you a few simple questions to configure NoM to best fit your game style.

If you want to run the script again, you have several options:

? Equip a campfire kit or a portable bedroll

? Open the console and write “StartScript NOM_config".
