AWS help - some nights are too dark

Post » Sun Jun 08, 2014 5:47 pm

First off - great mod! I love all the different weather patterns.

However, some of the nights are just too dark - even with a torch. It's partially me as I like my monitors on the dark side (I'm a stickler for black levels). I've tried messing around with the torch light radius which kinda works except when I light up one in a cave and it makes huge caverns as bright as day. I'd like to tweak the darkness levels of the really dark nights just a bit but need a little direction.

TIA!

It's not easy to fix. In the Construction Set you need to open each individual weather (under the World menu item) and go through all the elements (sky, clouds, horizon, ambient, etc.) in the drop-down box. Each one of those elements has a day, sunrise, sunset, and night value. You only need to tweak the night values, but in a large weather mod, that's a lot of tweakage, especially since you need to test each one to figure out what looks good.

If you switched to "Weather, All Natural" you could easily adjust night darkness for all weathers in the ini.
