I've bought plenty of games for 60 dollars over the years. I've mostly spent up to 50 dollars per game lately because I mainly buy handheld games and Japanese games that started out as budget titles. I don't remember how much Earth Defense Force 2025 was, but pretty sure it was around 50 dollars. 60 dollars isn't much of a rip-off for me with this game because all those laughs and the fact that it has fun looking local multiplayer for when I feel my nephew won't begin to fear insects too much from it. I need to avoid things that could make him fear insects heavily because I don't want him fearing them. I want him to see how they could be given some form of respect.
Some of these giant insects could scare a young kid pretty good.
Ashens said something once. What was it? Oh, he said not to buy Collector's Editions. The he said buy them if you want, but please don't. Closest to a collector's edition I've ever gotten was Shin Megami Tensei IV's first print run edition and that was well worth every dollar and penny. This was only 50 dollars, too. That is a bargain compared to many Collector's Editions that only really market themselves as having extra stuff. None of it having any point. This first print run had a very useful early game strategy guide(it's Shin Megami Tensei. You need a guide for these) and also had a very nice soundtrack CD. The main thing was the game and slip case for me, though.
Soul Hackers had a less good first print run, but that game wasn't getting much attention after it came out outside of people complaining about how old a game that was a Sega Saturn exclusive is. Yes, let's complain about a game being old when it actually looks quite nice even by today's standards. Seriously, the FMV scenes were pretty well done. This series never has had amazing graphics outside of the earlier days where some cool stuff was done.
I find complaining about a game that was amazing to get into the US just because it also has the misfortune of being an old game that was made in the FMV days to be silly. This game's FMVs still were pretty cool to look at to me, but I love to admire old game tech. I like seeing what it could do. Seeing Doom on the Spectrum? My ears may not like the music, but that is just amazing to see!
Sorry if I seemed self-righteous there. I was just ranting about people being upset that a game is old. I find this complaint to be the most ridiculous thing ever. It's not like they simply upscaled the PS2 version of Okami on a 1080p TV, after all. I've seen Okami at that condition. It is ugly and sad to see.
