Best follower for feeling revered? :D

Post » Tue Jun 10, 2014 3:58 am

Call me crazy, but I like the idea of my Dovahkiin having cultists following him.

Once I defeat Miraak, I usually equip his fancy stuff.
As I've recently done. But now I'm on the search for the follower that makes the best cultist!
Any suggestions?

They have to, of course, equip the Cultist armor set.
And be all in awe of the Dragonborn.
They can be followers from mods or w/e that doesn't matter too much.

Hope to get some good suggestions, haven't been able to come up with anything beyond the Blades followers.

Aside: is there any mod that adds a Serpentine Dragon, summonable by shout or spell? Otherwise I think I might have to make one :P

Doubt there is such a follower. So you might as well just play without them.

Well.. thats encouraging :D :D I might have to make one of those too. If I find out how..

Would need to recycle the cultists lines in some fashion.

You mean like "Adoring Fan" in Oblivion?

I remember, he was like a blond elfin Urkel. You could push him off a cliff and watch him die, then he'd respawn and be right back at it in three days time.

In a way it would be like the adoring fan, but nowhere near as disconcerting :D
I'd just like for a few Miraak cultists to switch sides after we kill their master, if you see what I mean.
And then one would follow me respectfully, and take care of the minor nuisances while I focus on dragons and obliterating large groups of enemies.

I've thought about making a custom one at that (with a name/personality) but I don't think I'm able to voice an NPC well. It would be an interesting learning experience though, as I'm trying to learn papyrus/the CK.

Aside: I've tried cloning the Odahviing shout to summon a unique Serpentine Dragon but I overlooked the fact that it'd require unique shout-words too. Which would need voice. I think I might have to make it a summon spell after all.

I'm not sure who to get, but I can tell you who not to get. Marcurio. He'll overkill your game with his magic, and leave you with little to do in his wake. :sorcerer: He's always bragging about how much of an expert he is about magic and Nordic ruins, and probably other subjects too, and I can't recall one moment when he made my PC feel revered. It's all about Marcurio, if you pick him.

I'm not modding Skyrim yet, but the only answer I can think of from the vanilla game is Erik the Slayer. I can see corrupting this green farm boy (in a RP sense) into your evil, wicked ways.

Maybe Vilja, she does adore you, when you take her on as a follower, plus she'd look really cute in cultist robes! Plus the fact that she wants to marry you, kinda makes her like a groupie.

M'aiq thinks either Marcurio or Valdimar would fit the bill... They are M'aiq's favorite followers.

if you want to turn a follower into a cultist I suggest any follower that is a mage should do.

You might consider getting the Interesting NPCs mod. Adds 250+ npcs. I believe 25 of them can be followers. It's a pretty large mod, but the npcs it adds are a great deal more interesting than any vanilla. You might be able to find one that reveres you in there, though I'm not certain.

It's a great mod to have in the game either way, though!
