Anyone use same character for more than one TES game?

Post » Wed Jun 11, 2014 6:11 am

I use the same character, Lauren, in Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim - though I RPed that Lauren went to Morrowind from Cyrodiil by foot and that she went to Skyrim by boat after escaping Valenwood. I tried doing the descendants thing but I could never get attached to them for some reason.

Does anyone else do this or am I alone in this?

My first character in every TES, since Daggerfall, has always been a Dunmer name Gaiden Kormattin. I like to imagine that he is like M'aiq, some kind of perpetual manifestation that is both the same and different with each incarnation.

I do the descendants thing, or at least a variation on it. Morrowind i had a dark elf called sakarta, Oblivion i had an imperial called William, and in skyrim i had Dunrith (who is the nephew of Sakarta).

I like to imagine that Lauren finds the secret of eternal youth, hence why she still looks young at the time of Skyrim. :P

In Morrowind, I used to RP as Lauren's sister Kate, but she kinda went down on a bad road and considering she would go down the same path if I restarted her, I never restarted her.

I started my current Oblivion character as a younger version of the Skyrim character in my avatar, but it didn't really work out because Llerethis was pretty young even in Skyrim. I morphed her into a sort of 'tribute' to Jenassa, although she uses magic (but I'm toying with having Something Terrible happen late in the playthrough due to using magic, so as to have her be put off it for life) and is only loosely based on the real Jenassa. My next character might well be a young Altmer who ends up in Skyrim on my next Skyrim playthrough, not sure. Trouble with that is starting again at level one, I know there are ways (on PC at least) to increase your level, but tbh I really like playing the low levels, I'm not sure I'd want to start off at a significantly increased level.

My Nerevarine Piers has been in every (future) TES game since Morrowind, and my Dragonborn Assa will be in TES VI. The hardest part is getting them to look the same or at the very least similar. Assa is a special case since he won't be in the game himself, but working through a proxy (So far I have a Breton hammer-wielding dandy planned for that. I'm thinking of calling him Ruben).

I also do the family thing starting with my Champion of Cyrodiil Elise. Her descendants Alois and Genevieve were the Dragonborn's former companions. At first they were supposed to take on parts of her personality (originally Genevieve was her only descendant) but they became their own characters. Their niece is supposed to continue the bloodline and depending on the time between Skyrim and TES VI she'll also be playable in the future (she is also the reincarnation of Elise, so that kinda makes her a legacy character, too).

One of the greatest features of the TES series is the freedom you're given in character creation. You are not restricted to a predetermined character story. You can create your own story and in effect play as yourself if you wanted to.

I myself have been roaming Tamriel since I first step into the Daggerfall affair. I play only one character and have done so for so long now it is hard for me to create and RP any other. I lay the blame squarely on a book I read in Daggerfall, The Wild Elves.

Manveru, aka Myghal, aka Myacol the Wild Elf of Colovia has been fulfilling the prophecies of the Elder Scrolls "From your hand shall be dealt the needs of the empire." since the early days of Daggerfall and probably will continue for as long as I play the Elder Scrolls games.

I have a Rogue Character that shows up in every TES game. Well, not so much in ESO, at least not yet. However this character has been part of Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim and somewhat in Battlespire (though I never played that game too much)

I have a character, named Echo, who shows up repeatedly in the various games as a "reincarnation." She gets reborn only after having been killed in a previous "life." She has appeared in all the TES games (except Skyrim, which I have yet to play.) Her games are always played at maximum difficulty, which greatly increases the likelihood that she won't survive. She's also quite gimped. She has never completed a main quest in any of the games.

Does that count? :)

I initially made Lauren as a sister to a character called Kate. But Lauren turned out to be far more interesting than her sister so I chose to scrap Kate and have Lauren as a character.

Lauren has been a part of three TES games and will most likely move away from Skyrim to experience [insert TES VI province here].

Considering she lives practically forever, she chooses to enjoy the moment because her followers/wive/husband won't follow her into the next life (except for Vilja who also found the eternal youth secret).

Yes, it does. :)

Though with Lauren, I do the opposite. In Oblivion, she's gimped but in Morrowind and Skyrim, she brings over her money, basic weapon and clothes from the other lands ;)
