Legendary Dead is Dead - the ultimate challenge ?

Hi guys, just wanted to see if anybody is persevering with this horrible but insanely addictive play style?

I'm still battling on and have literally restarted Ulda, my Nord, light armour, hand axe girl, over a hundred times spread over a full year. Every time I am convinced that I won't make stupid newbie mistakes and still there is just always something that gets her killed. My bane right now is Draugr Death Lords. These heavy hitters are easily one hit killers even with Ulda at level 28 and 228 Armour and 400 health. But I've now got a secret weapon, ha! I'm gonna get the Sanguine Rose and see how they like them apples!

Lydia as follower is as much a liability as a help. On one hand she tanks in and takes the enemy hits giving me chance to get a few shots off myself. One the other hand, she svckers you into helping when you should be backing out, then she drops to her knee, having wasted thirty valuable health potions first. The baddie then switches target to Ulda with predictable devastating consequences. God, how many times
I've been svckered into death like that.

Some of you probably think I'm either stupid or have the patience of a saint, or both. However, this play style makes every serious fight a thrilling, white knuckle edge of your seat experience. Victories are a real fist in the air triumph, but failure is too depressing to contemplate. A restart after maybe 70 hours of hard fighting and late nights is gaulling to say the least.

I do have one cheat option. A slightly different take on full Dead is Dead. That is, a single save point at High Hrothgar where the greybeards resurrect their beloved Dragonborn. But to qualify for even the first save you have to be made full Dragonborn, typically by level 15. And subsequent saves can only be made after qualifying for a trip to the monks by successfully getting one of Arngeirs Words of Power. So, in practice a save about every ten levels, and believe me that is still a huge amount of hard work to face losing if you're killed. I have only invented this dodge because it was becoming painfully obvious that keep restarting meant I would never get to finish the MQ or tryout my DLC.

How far have I ever got? Well with just two HH restarts I made it to level 39 once........killed finally by a powerful Marauder archer who one shotted me. My fault for not keeping health up 100%.

Anyhow, that's my story on how I do it.............. Anyone else out there hooked on this, and how far do you get?
