Dead Bard?

Post » Fri Jun 13, 2014 1:27 am

In Hearthfire the bard I hired was killed in a bandit attack. Is there any way to hire another bard or am I out of luck. I am on 360. I talked to my steward and I don't get the option to hire a new bard. Thanks for any help.

From what I read online, you're out of luck unless you can load an earlier save.

Thanks that's what I figured. I reloaded a save previous to her death 4 times. and each time she was killed in the attack.

Looks like it's preordained by the Nine that she meet her end then.

Can't you tell her to wait at a safe distance while you take out the bandits?

She was staying at my home in Windstad Manor. I had just returned to see my two adopted daughters and store some items at my house when bandits attack. Each time I find her body in a different area around the house laying on the ground after I have killed the bandits.

I never knew of the bandits ever entering your home, so I don't see how she gets killed.

She was outside of the home. I am not sure why. For some reason when I come back I quite often see her, my steward or my children entering or exiting the house.

My apologies, I misread your earlier post as saying she was in the house. I think it's normal for them to walk the grounds occasionally. Can you go back to a save before you arrive during the bandit attack, then maybe wait a few hours before approaching the house?

sounds like you need to reload, and try a different time of day getting there. And no fast travel there. hopefully you'll get the bandits before they spawn to close to the house.

Maybe the bandits just wanted to mosh and got carried away.

It was an assassination attempt! Your bard was taken out as she looked so much like you.

You got lucky my friend.

Unfortunately your bard is unique NPC. They have a name.

So you cannot replaced them. There only few unique NPC will be replaced in the game if something happened to them such as shop keeper.

Are you fast traveling directly to your home?If so try to land somewhere near and walk to your house and maybe get a headstart on the bandits.

Just build another house in a different hold and get a new bard there. I'm considering killing my bard though. I'm getting a bit sick of her. What will tonight's playlist be, bard? Song 1 then song 2 or song 2 then song 1?
