Intel control panel help

Hello all! I am having computer problems

YAY!

Anyway, I installed the Surface Pro 2 Firmware Update yesterday, and ever since then I've not been able to access the Intel HD graphics control panel. I had a specific set-up for my screen that was only accessible through the control panel. After the firmware update my screen settings were reverted to the original pro settings and I can't get my old settings back again because I can't access the Intel control panel.

I've tried everything. I went on Google and apparently no one has had this problem. I go to the little task icon window and the Intel-control panel icon is gone (it was there before). I tried searching for the control panel in my system but every time I click on Intel HD Graphics in the search options it just shows the loading swirl for a second, goes away, and nothing happens. I tried updating my driver but it says up-to-date.

When I first got the pro 2 I couldn't' access the panel then, either, but a firmware update back at the beginning of the year added it in. It seems this new one has removed that feature again. This recent firmware update apparently "improves" visual stability of the HD graphics family, so it may be that it also inadvertently removed the control panel access by accident (or some other nebulous reason). If that is the case then I really hope the next update adds it back in.

I'm not sure what else to do here now.

Has this occurred for anyone else? Is there a fix I've not found yet?

Thank you

You can install your drivers manually from the Intel web page !!!!

So, just uninstall your existing drivers, and then follow those steps: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=621Ur6e7JTw

Download the appropriate drivers for your Surface 2 Pro tablet.

Those are you updates btw:

The following updates will be listed as “System Firmware Update – 6/10/2014” when you view your update history.

  • Surface Pro UEFI update also provides support for PXE boot with the new Surface Ethernet Adapter.
  • Surface Pro System Aggregator Firmware (v2.4.350.0) update improves sleep state transitions when a Surface Cover is attached.
