Operation MOSTS

What the hell is a MOSTS?

MOSTS stands for ‘Make Oblivion Superior To Skyrim’. A group of modders who create Oblivion Mods to make it better than Skyrim.

Why are you posting this?

I’m looking for people to fill the following roles in the modding team:

Modeller: Definitely one of the most important roles. I should say that first of all, I have no idea how to model so I’m in desperate need of modellers to help out. There are four types of modellers that I need, Item Modellers, Weapon/Armour Modellers, Structure Modellers and Creature Modellers. The names basically give away what they do.

Scripter: Someone to write scripts for our mods, I understand a little bit but I can’t write complex scripts for Oblivion. I’m looking for someone who can.

Texture Creators: Someone who creates textures for basically anything. Works mainly with modellers and Concept artists.

Concept artists: You don’t have to be a perfect drawer, you just need to be able to create something for a modeller and Texture Creator to work from.

Animator: Not required but greatly appreciated. I’d like someone who can create animated items and make animations for creatures.

Obviously I’m not creating a group where you’ll be given assignments with time limits, I just want people who can help out in their spare time. If you are interested in being recruited send the following information to the email “uraggrobonahk@hotmail.com” without quotation marks.

Name: It doesn't have to be your actual name, just something for me to recognize you by and give credit to.
Preferred Field[s]: Which of the above you want to work as, if you choose modeller please specify what type of modeller you will be.
Email: Preferably an alternate Email made for this purpose.
Age (Not Required): I’m 16. I’d like to know how old you are. You don’t have to tell me, but I just like to know the people I’m working with better.
Gender (Not Required): Are you Male or Female, you don’t have to tell me, but I just like to know the people I’m working with better.
Experience (Not Required): No Experience is required but you need to understand what you are doing. This is experience in a modding group or as a solo modder, even if you haven’t modded have you created a model before? Anything like that is useful but remember this is NOT required.

Communication will happen through Email because I don’t have Skype, of course, that is just communication with me.

NOTE: If you join this group and are willing to create a website for it, I’d greatly appreciate it. You do not have to have another role to do this, just maintain the website.

Joined yesterday, never released anything, and nothing to show for the current project.

Smells like one of them old "total conversion" type threads we used to get 5 a day of several years ago. And I predict the same fate for this as 99% of them. Complete abandonment within a week.

You can't get people around here excited for something when you have nothing to show and no track record of solid mods.

Don't take it personally, Urag gro-Bonahk. You have to understand that those of us who have been around for years have seen the same thing happen the same way, again and again. Like Echonite says, we have seen folks with no experience rush onto the forums with Grand Ideas, we see people follow it with great anticipation and a few weeks or a few months later, we see that the Grand Project has evaporated like water in the desert.

If Frank Lloyd Wright tells me he's going to build one of the largest castles ever seen I'm going to take him seriously. But if my neighbor who's never even built a tool shed tells me he is going to built one of the largest castles ever seen, I'm not likely to take him seriously. It may be unfair to my neighbor but that's just how human nature works.

So, yes. If you release one or two mods I think it will give you credibility. I'm not trying to discourage you. I'm only trying to explain why you might get skeptical responses to this thread. I urge you to try. Who knows, you might succeed where others have failed. Good luck.
