Worth the Buy?

Post » Mon Jun 16, 2014 2:11 pm

With the Summer Sale coming up on Steam, I was just wondering if Oblivion is worth my time and the buy. I own Morrowind and Skyrim already. Skyrim I played for probably hundreds of hours on my Xbox 360, and like 15 on my PC (just getting into some fun mods with my buds), and Morrowind I have hardly played (found the combat to be frustrating). Taking all this into consideration, is Oblivion worth it?

Sure. If nothing else, Oblivion's combat is more in line with Skyrim's. And Cyrodiil is a beautiful world to explore, even if the graphics are a bit dated. But if that didn't bother you in Morrowind, shouldn't be a problem.

Based on these identical threads (from 2014 alone) I'd say the consensus is a resounding "Yes!"

Asking that question in the Oblivion forum is going to get you quite a few "yes" votes. You probably won't see many "no" votes, because even those who aren't fond of the game are likely to acknowledge that it's worth at least Steam's sale price.

And my answer is "yes." :)

Thanks for the responses! Yeah, I probably should've used the handy "search" tool, hehe. Sorry guys, just wanted to make sure Oblivion is still worth it. I'll pick it up when it goes on sale.

It's one of the most re-playable games I own. There are mods to deal with almost all of the issues that people have with it. It's got to be worth it. :)

Look at it this way: people regularly buy games at full price that they will invest maybe a couple dozen hours into. Oblivion is a game that people invest hundreds, even thousands of hours into. And it'll be on sale.

Sounds like a good deal to me.
