's been very entertaining World Cup so far. Only like two boring games, the rest of them very entertaining, many of them even very random. Yes, group D is a group of death -- for England, Italy, and Uruguay, because Costa Rica is playing in it!
The one team that's impressed me by far the most is Germany. Seriously, what is their formation, 1-4-2-4-0, 1-4-6-0? The first "one" being Neuer! Seriously, the goalie played like a libero. He was a ball-playing defender more than a goalie, heck, he even positioned himself to the corner flag once, so that the lowest defender with the ball could pass to him more easily when being pressured.
Also no strikers to mention. There are up to EIGHT guys who can make a run, and whoever passes to whatever runner always seems to get the ball right to the runner's feet. Then the others support as magnificiently as they support each other on defense, and the finishing is deadly, and I think many other guys can yet score other than just Müller and a defender with good heading skills. What an innovative way to play; one could almost call it total football. Everyone defends and almost everyone can lead a strike. Players off the ball support flawlessly in each end, and always seem to position right with very little effort. It's almost as if the tactics alone take care of that. How can anyone beat this team if they continue to play like that?
My favorite team Netherlands really surprised Spain. Australia shouldn't be a problem; they only got like one shot on goal against Chile.
