Would you be fat?

Post » Wed Jun 18, 2014 7:57 pm

If there was no negative effects what so ever towards your health at all would you allow yourself to become fat and enjoy all the foods you want to eat?

Personally I'll say no because I prefer to be able to explore without my weight dragging me down.

Don't know why you have to be fat to enjoy the foods you like. It's all about portion control and keeping your overall diet in mind. If I have something fattening for lunch, I eat something light for dinner. This has nothing to do with weight control, it's just that I don't want two heavy meals in one day.

Fat people are happier and last longer but no, I wouldn't be fat. Sounds like more effort.

I already eat whatever I want and don't get fat. I'm just dying inside.

There would be negative effects nonetheless, dragging that weight being one of them. It's not all about the cholesterol levels and whatnot.

I love running too much to let myself get very big.

Agreed.

As someone who discovered the love of cooking about 3 years back, I eat what I want. Though, most days, dinner is my first meal of the day, but sometimes I manage to eat earlier. (Side effect of addictions. I got into the habit of being hung over, so never ate in the mornings.) My dinners are usually large enough for 2, which I eat all to myself. Sure, I put on a few extra pounds, but I ride my bike everywhere I go, so it kinda balances out.

So no, I would not be fat by choice.

I already do this. The problem is as a general rule of thumb I don't enjoy food or eating. There are much much more fun things to spend my time doing than eating food.

Nope....i watch what i eat/drink and do moderate workouts. No offense to anyone, but i just see life tends to be a lot easier and more enjoyable for nonfat individuals.

Strangely enough, unless you intentionally cook things that are fattening (cream based sauces for example) it's really easy to eat yourself full and not gain weight if your doing your own cooking. Reason is, we tend to put more healthy stuff in the food we cook for ourselves than we ever get from packaged foods (take a can of stew for example, you will have more veggies in what you make than what you get from a can, and with less fat and sodium and sugars added). This is assuming your ingredients come mostly from the perimeter of the grocery store where the raw and unprocessed foods are located, and not the interior aisles where the processed crap is located.

Have you ever thought of going to a physician for that?

I do make cream sauces from time to time, but I usually use home made tomato sauces with my pastas. (I've been meaning to make some more seeing I'm out, but I procrastinate...)

Indeed. I've been doing just that. I'm really trying, and doing quite well as far as getting away from the crap foods. (Which I lived on in my earlier years.) I even started making my own stocks, when I have the stuff to do it. (Shrimp shells, chicken/beef bones, vegy, etc.) Any chicken/beef bones or shrimp shells go into the freezer after my meal until I have enough to make a huge pot of stock. Which I then put in 250ml preserve jars and store in the fridge. What a difference in taste!!! As in, mine has taste...

Now I just need to get my sugar intake under control. (It's rather ridiculous the amount I ingest. Embarrassingly so.)

Fat people likely mostly aren't happy about being fat, and they most definitely don't last longer.

And in short, no, I wouldn't get fat because I care about myself. I'm a little vain like that.
