Help with Setting Up HUD Status Bars in UI

Hello and thanks for reading.

I've installed HUD Status Bars (recommended for Unnecessary Violence III), and it appears to be working. However, the mod offers an insane amount of "configurability," and I'm only now realizing a fraction of what it can do. The mod comes with several readme files that talk about editing the .ini files, but, honestly, I have very little experience doing this (it wasn't until just a few days ago that I learned that having a ";" (semi-colon) before a line means it gets ignored). So, I'm struggling to make heads or tails out of the two HUD Status Bar .ini files in Oblivion\Data\ini.

Making matters more complex is I'm running Darnified UI. And, logically, the two don't talk to each other. So, I'm able to move elements of the Darnified UI, but the HUD Status Bars elements remain static. Since HUD Status Bars (HSB) seem more useful, I'd honestly rather hide the Darnified/Vanilla UI elements and use the HSB ones instead. I know this can be done via the .ini files, but I'm not sure how. I'm also curious about how this is going to work with any mods that further impact the Darnified/Vanilla HUD. For example, if I use a mod that modifies Map Markers, will that only impact the Darnified/Vanilla compass or the HSB compass as well? If not, I'd like to keep the Darnified/Vanilla compass, but use HSB for pretty much everything else.

Any guidance, assistance would be greatly appreciated. Or, if you could point me to a good tutorial on the Web, that'd be fine too — I did some searching and found very little except threads in forums like these 55 pages long...and, well, that's a bit overwhelming to go through.

Thanks,

ELB
