I'm sure most of the people here are gamers. Would be nice to take action in this too.

Edit: site only applies to those in USA, sorry you folks in other countries. But would like to hear your thoughts on your place's rules on this.

Freedom of expression protects video games in America. Sure, I'll be the first to tell you there's a lot of violence in video games but if we were to censor video games, then we should ban Hollywood, the Bible, and many TV programs as well - including the news.

Freedom of expression isn't truly free, if it were then censorship wouldn't exist.

They've censored/edited games deemed too violent like Manhunt 2 so it's not unlikely that they will tighten their grip on future games involving six and violence.

Right. We could sit here for hours to discuss the philosophical aspect of "freedom". In summary, there isn't complete "freedom" of anything. There is, however, in America freedom with responsibility. And that's why we have laws to moderate but not completely destroy the freedom stipulated in our constitution. The ratings in video games are sufficient and the point that I made in my previous comment is that, if we are going to attack one sector, then we must attack all sectors equally. These hypocritical folks who want to use video games as a scapegoat probably love the violent sport of boxing or like child pormography, such is the distorted mind of people.

You've nailed it, they're hypocrites and there's way more whiney moms who will stand up and cry about their children then gamers who will stand up for the games we enjoy....thing is that if these moms were more motherly then they wouldn't blame companies for producing something that they don't want their kids playing and simply monitor their kids entertainment but that's another topic.

Right. The incompetence of parents is really the root of the matter. Today, the family nucleus, values has changed. Both parents are too busy with their lives, with work, facebook(lol), etc. Kids nowadays are being rear by facebook, South Park, and video games. I'm not saying that video games don't have any kind of influence. It does. But, often is the case, that those kids who become violent because of "video games" are messed up already and anything would have triggered that hostile behavior. I've played violent games since the 80's but I'm a non-violent and law abiding citizen.

This crap pops up every couple years or so. Usually during a non-election year.

At this moment I am less concerned about censorship than I am about Crappy, alpha or beta-quality products beign pushed on the consumer, season passes, and $20 DLC. I am also concerned about Micro-transactions and their effects on the game. GTA is a prime example of a developer deliberatly and pourposfully degreding their product and service to push micro-trancsactions. I am concerned with Disk-locked content, paywalls, and developers not holding up their end of the advertisemant. Look at the ending of Mass Effect 3, and the continued delaying of GTA's Online Heists. ME3 was said, advertised, and continusly said to not have an A/B/C Ending. Yet there it is, an R/G/B ending with plotholes , and a paywall to end it off. Rockstar Games speciffically said that the player coould play heists with your friends. Here we are 8 MONTHS after release, and that feature is nowhere to be seen, except in some unfinished Beta found in DNS Redirects.

Did I mention that both of these failures are $60 new?

Enough with the Micro-tansactions, enough with the Betas, put out a finished product, or don't bother at all.
