My character has somehow acquired a glowing aura. What is doing this and can it be turned off or on?

what did you do prior to it appearing?
sounds like a script that didn't end properly (similar to the old Spriggan issue..)

easiest fix is to reload a previous save

At the moment can't seem to get my screen capture app to function in Skyrim.

Is there a next easiest solution?

Try unequipping everything and I suggest doing it in your home and then save on a new save location and then reload the game and launch that save and then maybe rest for a few days and then equip your gear.

Is it a close glow around the edges of your character's body? If so, I see that all the time, and usually on NPCs as well. I usually don't look for it, but sometimes it sticks out to me.

When I was new to Skyrim, I thought it was some magical effect or other.
