After the "Historical" thread, it got me thinking about this.

I was watching E3 and I saw that 2 games were set in locations I've never seen in Video Games before. They were set in fictional countries but they were based on real nations and cities of Nepal and Istanbul,Turkey. So what are some regions of the world that are uncommon in Video Games? (Uncommon doesn't mean never been to, but rarely has).

One location I was thinking of was Indonesia. A large archipelago with many different cultures. The only game I can of is Far Cry 3.

Another location is India, The second largest country in the world. I can't think of any games set in India.

Worth noting that one of the Assassin's Creed games took place in Istanbul/Constantinople. I think it was brotherhood? I didn't play it, but it seems like it'd be a cool setting.

Didn't know that. The only game I could think was "Dying Light" which is set in a fictional counterpart of Istanbul.

Another location I thought of, Australia. A land where everything is trying to kill you.

Western Canada.. specifically around Alberta and BC, stretching to the Southern NorthWest territories..

that game was such a let down.. kinda off topic, but apparently they are gonna reboot ReBoot with a new TV series.. they will probably have to change characters name though.. half the technologies characters were named after are no longer used (you will never see a Dot Matrix printer these days)..
