AddShout - Does it REALLY corrupt saves?

So the Wiki says that AddShout corrupts savegames. I see various reports on the intarwebz saying that the console version of AddShout causes savegame corruption... but the console command and script functions are not always identical.

See, here's the thing... I've added half a dozen shouts to a target NPC using scripts and I am just not seeing the feared save game corruption. At all. There are even vanilla scripts that use it, and the game is apparently still completable.

I need to know if this is something that actually happens and I'm just "lucking out", or whether this is a sort of urban legend that people have just avoided testing.

Has anyone seen AddShout, used from Papyrus, actually corrupt a save?
