Drelas' Cottage

So I'm mucking about in western Whiterun with a level 17 fellow, when I happen upon a quaint little cottage beneath Eldersblood Peak. The door's unlocked, so I go on inside.
The dunmer called Drelas whirls around, shouts something, and uses some mega-murder-magic to kill me almost instantly.
I get all indignant and reload as a level 72 fellow and use my absurdly oversmithed war axe to kill HIM almost instantly. I then search his house for some note or journal, assuming he's part of some side quest. I find that, aside from a decent stock of alchemy ingredients and a rather large library, there is nothing unique here, nothing to indicate who this Drelas guy s.
Does anyone know eho he is? Is he a part of a quest I may have broken or glitched? Or is he just some hostile hermit living in a well-maintained house benath a dragon's den and between a trio of Nordic tombs?

He's just a hostile hermit.

Could have been part of a quest that was never implemented and there's no remnants of it in the game apart from the ctttage and Drela's himself.

Could have also been an Alchemy trader that was never implemented and was simply left set as hostile.
