Hi,
I am trying to figure something out - I've completed most of the KotN content on my current character, but haven't yet gone to face Umeril. How is the level of the Knights determined? UESP shows, on some of the character pages that I checked for those NPCs as PC + 1, where I presume PC stands for the "player character's" level - that is, my own level. But, when is that set, or does it change with the PC as you level up? One possibility is that there is a point where you go into the chapel at the Priory of the Nine and the Prophet starts telling you about how to defeat Umeril, which starts the next quest and all your knights say they will meet you at the ruin where he's laired up? Another possibility is that it is set when you arrive at the ruin? A third possibility is that, even though I've spoken to the prophet and started that quest, I can just go off and play other content and level up more, and they will just continue to level up with me, every time I 'rest' to level up, and then I can go to the ruin whenever I want (which, I guess, is much the same as the second scenario I listed, in effect)?
I ask, because I'm currently about level 17, and my Restoration and Alteration are not very high yet. I want to level up most of my skills, but especially those two, so that I can shield and heal the Knights during the final quest, to hopefully make it so that they all survive. But, shielding and healing won't do much good if they all end up 15 or 20 levels below me (and the dungeon, which will, I'm pretty sure, level up to me the first time I load into it).
