Seriously? If it were a press exclusive that would be one thing, but there are Doom fans all over the friggin' world that are physically unable to go there (myself included). If this is indeed true, can someone who attends QuakeCon PLEASE post some info? Doesn't have to be any video or anything, but SOME of the information revealed would be greatly appreciated.

Don't worry, if not a shaky phone-recorded video; there will be SOME information given to people outside.

See, that's the problem. They're finally showing the game after 6 years but they're doing it behind-closed-doors yet during the opening ceremony. What that means is that there's a very high chance someone will record it. And it's a bad thing, because if that's the case, then the world will see the shaky cam first instead of a proper trailer. The first impression should be taken care of properly but right now it seems the first impression will be based on a cellphone quality video. Not good.

Yup, especially since Doom fans have their criticism knives at the ready. The tiniest thing that is 'not true to the original' will warant the use of said knives. The game will be ripped to shreds. And that will make me sad.

Well......I think we'll get a lot of impressions from press. If this is an awesome doom game....we will know that even by people opinions. Doesn't matter that much, though I hoped that we will actually see doom reveal online.

Btw sorry for stupid question but what the 'sneak peek' means? Gameplay or another teaser (cinematic trailer). I am little disappointed by this "closed" reveal.

Well they must give people a reason for going there, without Carmack to fill the gap of 3 hours speaking nerd stuff will be hard for QC 2014.

I prefer to be a "secret"... because policy with RAGE was stupid, to show the whole game in gameplay trailers. But ......... 6 years... and how many QuakeCon they telling us that will show it. I am afraid that they will show another 1 minute thing, just to make people to go at show and with these big expectation will start big disappointments.

Hi, Who is making this new Doom game? Is it machinegames? I really liked their wolfenstein game, although selfishly I hope their not making Doom because I want them to make another Wolfenstein game. Machinegames is just so awesome at what they did, brought tears to my eyes in many moments in Woflenstein, literally.

I think it's safe to say that everyone that cares will know where the game is heading by the time quake-con comes to an end.

Yup, it can't even be argued. This game might very well be the deathblow to put id software out of its squirming misery, however I think this game will be the opposite of a deathblow.

If I lived in the vicinity; no Carmack Keynote is reason enough for me to skip it, a D4 reveal would be enough to coax me to attend.

I guess we can blame the Zenimax vs Oculus lawsuit for the lack of a Carmack talk, having Carmack at Quakecon would be against the interests of Bethesda since they are a sister company.

The real function of this "exclusive" is a blatant hype mechanic.

I wish they were selling online tickets.
