Using Mods : V

I just got a new pc and want to get into mods. In order to use them is it necessary to have the steam/skyrim folders in the games folder or can I keep them inside the programfiles folder?

You'll be much better off installing them outside of Program Files or any other folders that are under UAC. I have them installed in a C:\Games folder myself.

I cannot seem to find the games folder... I'm using a windows 8.1 pc.

I do too.

You have to manually create it. just go into C: and create a new folder named Games. Be sure to install EVERYTHING game related into that folder including Steam.

ok so now I have c:/games/nexus mod manager/skyrim/mods

is that right?

I will also move steam over there.
