ENB CTD AND MEMORY PATCH

Post » Mon Jul 07, 2014 12:55 am

That's the mod the topic is referred to:

http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/45266/?tab=1&navtag=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Foblivion%2Fajax%2Fmoddescription%2F%3Fid%3D45266%26preview%3D&pUp=1

I followed the install instructions inside the description:

1) Download "ENBSeries 0.195" or NEWER version.
2) Unpack ENBSeries files from "WrapperVersion" folder to your game
folder where Oblivion.exe file is. For some users "InjectorVersion" should be
used to fix compability issues with other software or for laptops with Optimus.
3) Select proper enblocal.ini to your hardware file from ENBoost archive folders
and extract it to game folder by replacing the same one from ENBSeries.
4) Run the game.

Now, bear with me:

- does the instruction 3) mean that I have to delete the enbeseries.ini and just leave the enblocal.ini inside the folder?
- I'm getting the ENB graphical effects. Shouldn't this be supposed to not happen?

edit: nvm, seem I'm a noob. I Don't know why, but afrter having searched for enbseries on google I stepped upon the wrong page, that was not the official boris page. that's the enbboost you should be getting.

this plugin made my fps in a vanilla install better of 4 fps.
I wonder what would happen if I installed stuff. Definitely recommended.

Installed over 5 gb of graphical enhancement mods. No change on the fps. I'm truly surprised.

Works pretty well here as well, but less of an fps boost but seems more stable.

The enbseries.ini- that's definitely for the graphics.

I see no difference. I wonder if I missed a step?

All I did was to put d3d9.dll, enbhost and enblocal into the folder where Oblivion.exe is. I get some text in the top left when I start Oblivion saying the Enb boost for Oblivion is running, but I see no effect in game.

The instlalation instruction are not as good as they could be.

You have to download this archive: http://enbdev.com/patch_oblivion_enboost_v0259.htm and extract it into your oblivion folder.

You have then to download the file inside tes nexus and extract (According to the version of the os you are using) the enblocal.ini inside the oblivion folder.

If anybody remembers my "Why is Oblivion crashing so damn much?" thread, then you can imagine how much of a godsend this fix could be if it works.

I have a question. This mod is just a fix/patch, right? Or is it a standalone ENB file? As of right now, my Oblivion has the latest http://enbdev.com/patch_oblivion_enboost_v0259.htm file and http://www.nexusmods.com/oblivion/mods/44146/? installed. Given this much information, do I just follow the instruction and install this fix over what I already have?

Yea, I did think it was a bit difficult to understand. Thanks for the explanation.

I just tested it again and I ran extremely fast for a long stretch without getting stuttering. I usually get a lot of stuttering when I try that and often also a CTD. It works perfectly it seems :D
