BlueStreak

Any thoughts on Cliff Bleszinski's new game? He has formed the studio Boss Key Games and earlier this week they announced BlueStreak, a free-to-play Arena shooter. First concept image released today http://ign.com/articles/2014/07/10/first-concept-art-for-cliff-bleszinkskis-bluestreak-released

The game is already seeing a ton of hype since Cliffy B has a pretty big fandom. I remember during Gears of Wars heyday he was pretty much treated and acted like a rockstar.

I like that arena shooters are starting to come back, but I don't think his will be really any different than all the other ones coming soon. Like the MMO craze and the recent MOBA craze, Everyone's just trying to squeeze out some money before that genre gets over-saturated as well. Plus, Unreal Tournament is making its return. And I'm sure Beth (well, ID, but they're owned by Beth) will pump-out a Quake when the genre really gains some momentum. Between those two, I don't see how anything could compete.

Having said that, I like arena shooters much more than your typical FPS these days. But...and don't shoot me for this...I really didn't like Gears multiplayer at all. If he takes influences from that, I won't like this what so ever.

EDIT: Looking more closely, the image looks kinda like it's trying to cash-in on the post-apocalyptic/zombie feel. I could be wrong, but it looks like it could be concept art for DayZ quite easily
