León van der Stadt's Additional Morrowind Music

Post » Fri Jul 11, 2014 8:51 pm

Hey, I'm not sure if there's been any threads about this before, but I didn't see any, so I thought I may as well make one.

A composer who works on TES mods made 20 minutes worth of "Additional" music for Morrowind, which is on Youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kjdw5vKgp-U. I liked it so much that I put it in my game, and listen to it quite a bit. It fits in with the game's original soundtrack better than anything else I've heard and is really reminiscent of Soule's work, I can pick out ques that remind me of KotOR in there, and that makes me really happy.

Anyone else listened to this? What do you think?

Listening to it right now.

It definitely fits within the game. This is a great mod for Vanilla purists.

(so far) To me, it sounds like he pulled parts of melodies out of the songs that already exist and put something together. If you listen to each explore song in the original game, they all feel a little different from each other and contain different instruments.

That aside though, I think it sounds great and is definitely worth (getting permission and) turning this into a mod!

Some sections sound a little too much like the vanilla music... Meaning, it sounds like he just remixed different sections/melodies and put them together in new ways. But I guess that's kinda good thing, a way to weave it in more seamlessly.
But overall, pretty damn nice.

Are his two Skyrim soundtracks (Undeath & Wyrmstooth) for mods or just his own concepts?
