OK, so i got this copy of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion GOTY edition from my local library, it doesn't look that scratched up but i don't think that's the problem.

i put Disk 1 in the DVD slot of my Windows 8 laptop (not 8.1) and it didn't automatically come up or anything, if i went into libraries and clicked on it it would lag the computer so i had to close it, and it would just spin inside the DVD drive, and not do anything.

iv'e got about a week or more before i have to return this, so any help would be greatly appreciated.
