How do i do?

Hello Bethesda forum members.

Before i start, i like to say that u all have good taste by choosing and playing this game:)

Ok so i'm on ps3 and it seems the freezing issues are growing because my saved data file grows.

I's only 12mb but t'hats already to much for the patfetic ps3.

-My auto-saves are all turned off, my system is clean from the in- and out- side ( i clean it 2 times a year to remove dust so my ps3 can breath)

- i have latest patches installed

- i play offline when playing Skyrim

My question is what can i do more? What happens w'hit the items u sell? Are they removed permanently?

Can u lower the saved file size and improve the game by selling as many objects as possible?

Bethesda, u are the champions in creating the best gameplay games on the market these days as most companies screw there games up.

However i'ts sad t'hat i have to quit playing your games , not because i want to quit but because the game forces me to quit because of the freezing and lag issues.

I have encountered these problems with the following games

- fallout 3 ( best game ever )

-fallout new vegas ( allmost as good as fallout 3)

-oblivion ( allmost as good as Skyrim)

-Skyrim ( best game ever after fallout 3)

This should be moved to the PS3 Issues sub-forum.

You are experiencing this problem only on games that use the same/similar engine as Skyrim, as it appears (Please correct me if I'm wrong), so it's probably less of a game thing and more of an issue with the engine and perhaps the system it's running on type of thing.

The bad part about this is that there's very little you can do to remedy this problem due to the limitations of console versions. When I played on Xbox, I had freezing problems (only on loading screens), and buying a new disk fixed that issue.

You need to clarify some things:
- When did this start happening (Character level, filesize, etc.)?

- At what times do the freezes happen (on loading screens, in combat, etc.)?

Okay, so it occurs both on fast travel (Loading screens?) and on foot.

I don't own a PS3, so let me ask you this: Is Skyrim installed to your PS3's hard drive?

I'm going on what worked for me personally, but installing the game to my hard drive did help quite a few things.

Yes the freezes are random, after fast travel they come alot , after traveling to windhelm.

But i rarely freeze in loading screens.

I guess the game is installed , also i have all dlc installed. i c'ant say for sure if the game installs himself on the harddisc because it's a while ago sinds i played skyrim.

Well, you'd have to manually install it, but I just found out that the PS3 doesn't support that.

I've been reading some things about this issue and apparently turning autosave off has the potential to help.
You can do that via the settings menu. The only downside to this is that you'll have to save manually more often.

I did that when i started playing , but if i sell items, do they go away permanently ? I think how less items in the world , the less the ps3 have to memorise.

I know ps3 is a crap console as all best and big games lag and freezes.

like bfbc1, best mp shooter on console but a freezer as hell, but yeah there engine is called frostbite engine

Skyrim has a mandatory install from approx. 4.5Gb without the DLC's. It installs automatically after you put the Blu-ray in your PS3.

It says something like this: "Installing game data, please wait.." The installation procedure takes place the first time you put your disk on your PS3. (if you want it or not.) lol

It looks like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BOepEH7eXco

-----------------

Do you override saves ??? You shouldn't do that.

How much space to you have left in your HDD ???

Don't leave to many saves on your PS3 HDD.

If you save once at the beginning of your game session, and after a while you make another ten saves, all you saves are going to your PS3 main memory.

And your PS3 main memory is not dynamically used, like the XBOX 360. You have only 256 MB. !!!!

(just back-up them on a external drive, every time you start playing skyrim, and leave only the last never ones. Two should be good enough.)

Skyrim depends a lot on your HDD. So your HDD should be in good shape, and have much space left.
