For frequent gamers here, do you buy gaming mice?

No, I do not.

My current mouse is the 8 year old Logitech G3 Laser Mouse and I'm still very pleased with it.

I bought a Razer Lachesis about 6 years ago and couldn't be happier with it. More than worth the price tag.

I'm actually embarrassed that I used a [censored] wireless Microsoft mouse for so long before that, playing games competitively.

Nope. I've always been under the notion that any real benefit of a gaming mice could only be availed in a competitive gaming environment.

I use the Logitech M185, and its pretty good since I mostly play RPGs.

I use a mouse pad with a gel wrist pad. However the surface of the mouse pad is covered with a stiffer plastic surface (it still bends, it is just not as soft as the foam ones most pads are made of). This allows the mouse to move easily and smoothly for gaming. I think I spent about 8 bucks on it.

Nope! I play hard mode and use the trackpad. The gaming mice do look pretty fancy, but I can accomplish the same thing with the trackpad. But that's just me and not wanting to spend more money. :P

I personally don't buy gaming mice but my one of my sons does. He also has a special gaming mouse mat together with a special gaming keyboard and uses a 42" wide screen tv as a monitor. He takes it all very seriously and saved up for all this equipment himself I hasten to add.

I have to ask, what are those of you who say you go through a mouse every few months DOING to them to cause them to break? I just replaced my last mouse a few months ago after 4 years of service to me, and I fully expect this one to last just as long, and it's nothing more then a mouse that came in a $40 mouse/keyboard combo. Are you all throwing them up against the wall or something in a rage fit? Smashing them with hammers? LOL, I just can't quite fathom how you can kill a mouse in a few months unless you are intentionally abusing it or spilling stuff all over it.

Lol, that has little to do with it, I type 110 wpm and have since I was 18, and I've gone through 4 keyboards since I was 18, and ALL of them were replaced because I spilled soda in them, not because I hit the keys to hard. You sure you're not secretly taking a hammer to it? Maybe while your sleeping you get up and start bashing it against the wall because you actually hate keyboards?

No. my mouse has the standard buttons and two on the thumb rest, but i dont use them for gaming. I bought this mouse cause its durable and comfortable. Insanely durable actually. The last mouse i had was the same model, and it lasted me 10 years.

I did use those two buttons for key binds when playing WoW, since at the time I was playing a warlock and that required very precisely timed actions in a couple instances per rotation, but most of the time they arent bound to anything.

I mostly use them for back and foreward buttons on my browser.
