I have been playing this game for thousands of hours but I recently had to re-install this game. After about 25 hours of playing after the re-install I have been getting an infinite load screen almost every time I leave the lucky 38. This does not happen any where else and I have no idea why. Can anyone tell me how to fix this? I should also mention in the thousand plus hours I played previously this never happened to me on pc or on console. So what gives?

I have the same problem, although it's an occasional one and can take place anywhere. I can't even get back to the desktop so I have to reboot. So I just quicksave anytime prior to fast traveling or opening a door to a new area. Wish I could be of more help to you.

I just discovered that it only happens when I go into the penthouse and try to leave. I have no idea why it is doing this it only seems to happen in the lucky 38.... Everywhere else seems to be okay. Du fuq?

Also saving and loading in the lucky 38 causes this as well. So I guess every time I go there to see house/yesman I will just coc out of there.... Magical.

Now my save wont load at all and I have to reboot my whole pc in order to use it after starting new vegas up again. I have NEVER had this kind of problem before. Guess my new vegas run through is over. Awesome.

Try verifying integrity of game cache on Steam. Sounds like the game can't find a file it needs. Any mods?

Yes I have more than a few I can name them if you like. They are the same mods I had before I had to re-install new vegas and according to the mod manager no problems are detected with them.

Might be worth trying to disable them. Archive invalidated as well. See what happens.

Did you verify integrity of game cache? That's how you get back missing or corrupted vanilla game files.

First thing to try is another save file.

If your save is getting or is corrupted, this kind of thing can happen (more than likely due to some quest script hanging up*). Load an earlier save, and even try a new character to test (you can buff them up in the console to get them to the Strip right away. If the problem is not there with the earlier save or the new character, then it's your save file that is hosed.

Also, do you have the NVAC mod? That is designed to counter the various things that lead to infinite loading or crashing on cell loads.

Are you doing the quest where you save the hoker from the Omerta's? That is a crash fest for me until I used the NVAC mod.

I have no other save but I can make one to try this out at the very least. I have never heard of this mod but it sounds like it is worth a try.
