Funny News!

Post » Thu Jul 17, 2014 11:15 pm

Since we have threads for good news and bad news, let's have one for funny news. May as well add in an in between. Darkly funny(within this site's rules, of course!), only funny to you, in jokes. Doesn't matter. Just has to be occurrences in your life that you found funny.

Me and my mom were catching a moth last night. Simple enough, right? Wrong! The moth was a sneaky little thing that managed to escape my mom. It couldn't escape my eyes, though. The moth almost flew into our faces while we tried to get it inside a cup. The moth tried to blend into a painting that had a color scheme very similar to it, but we caught it on that painting.

I refused to let my mom kill the moth and wanted it to stay alive.

Was gonna put this in the bad news thread, But I laughed way too hard when it happened.

So, We got a new AC unit today. Before my BF an I could put in the new one, We had to take out the old one (The old one was pretty big). So as we're taking it out a dragonfly comes in through the side of the window. Now, I'm not afraid of bugs or nothing, But that thing bumped into my forehead and the shock from it doing so made me let go of the AC. After bumping into my head, The dragonfly got into my BF's mouth and..he ended up letting go of the AC too...So yea, Six floors up and the AC went down. Lucky no one was hurt. Even the dragonfly hot spit out and flew off. My BF however...he's still washing his mouth out with mouthwash. :P

That is really funny. A frog got in the house once. Me and my mom chased it through the house trying to get it. Harley, who is a big dog, was terrified of the frog. It was a tree frog, so it also was sticking to walls.

Did a really big and important deployment of a new web site a couple of weeks ago, and worked a ton of hours the prior week and most of the weekend to ensure that it went well. It did go well...until the company that is paid for rack space/reliable power/internet connectivity to host the servers was hit with a rather large DDoS attack that rendered said web site inaccessible for most of the day. Good thing it was only the last day of the month and the site was only inaccessible for people that were trying to perform a lot of important end-of-month transactions. Luckily, those customers only ended up being extremely pissed off.

Even that can be dangerous and/or expensive.
