Hi, I have been wondering what happens if you clear out a cave and then get get a quest to back there - does it reset?

The generics will respawn if you dispose of the corpses, and this can happen quite quickly if you dispose of all the corpses. Like clear the dungeon, dispose, leave, come right back. Named NPCs will not respawn.

CCNA covered the people and creatures...
But any chests, barrels, etc, that you have looted will not respawn. If a container has its contents altered, the game remembers it forever.
(if you looked in the container, but didn't add/remove anything, they do respawn their content to match your current level after 72 hours of leaving the cell)
