Hey everyone.

Okay, I play Skyrim on Xbox, and I swear I dropped the Staff of Magnus in Dead Mans Respite in Olafs treasury room. I got the quest Aftershock from Tolfdir, telling me to go seal this rupture. I went to go get the staff but it wasnt in Dead Mans Respite! Any ideas? HELP!

And dungeon had not yet respawned?

Use only safe containers to store your items!

I believe you can still seal the rupture by killing all the baddies, usually 6-8 of them. I don't think you need the the staff it's just easier with it.

I believe Deadmans Respite is respawning, but even if the "bad guys" have not respawned it may have "cleaned up". That being said I have had dropped items sink into the floor, not often, but it's happened. This is btw in a home that I am trying to decorate, but a dropped item is a dropped item. sometimes I can get them back by going into sneak and looking at the floor.... all of it... so unless you know exactly where you dropped the staff, have fun with that one.

You don't need the staff to do the quest.
