IniColorEdit 1.0

by WH-Reaper

This program allows you to edit color values in Morrowind.ini via comfortable user interface. You can edit them by adjusting red, green and blue values or by mixing your color using photoshop-like palette, provided by PS Color Picker v1.1 BETA library. If you do not like this palette, or you simply loose the library file, there is also simplier built-in palette. You can also revert to default value of given entry, or revert all to default values. And last feature allows you to create small "mods" in form of text files, which can be loaded by IniColorEdit to adjust user's settings.

Usage:

Copy the program and OpenPainter.ColorPicker.dll to your Morrowind directory (or any directory with Morrowind.ini you want to modify).

Launch the program and load ini file using 'Load ini file' button. Message in status bar should inform you that ini file was successfully loaded.

You can select any value in the list and edit it either by editing red, green and blue values, by editing RGB line, or by mixing the color using palette.

You can load additional files containing morrowind ini values, which will rewrite current loaded values. Entries in such file MUST be in same order as in morrowind ini file and groups of entries MUST be preceded by their corresponding head. You can also insert comments. Comments must be on separate line starting with ';'.

Example of such file:

;We will recolor water here
[Water]
UnderwaterColor=1,1,1
;We will change weather color here
[Weather Blizzard]
Sun Sunset Color=1,1,1
Sun Night Color=1,1,1
;Not much to say here
Sun Disc Sunset Color=1,1,1

After you are done, use 'Save changes' button. Program will create backup of your original morrowind ini file and save your changes to current one. Once again, message should inform you that file was saved.

Code:

I provided source code for download. You are free to take a look at it and use any part in your programs. To make the code run, you must also download PS Color Picker v1.1 BETA code and include the project in IniColorEdit solution, or delete all references to this palette library.

Thanks:

Testing this out now. Looks freaking awesome! This will be so useful, Reaper!

One thing I noticed: what happens when there are multiple ini files in the directory? Does it only choose the one named Morrowind.ini? It doesn't seem to say what ini is loaded.

Thanks! :)

Yes, the main file that gets loaded is ALWAYS Morrowind.ini. Additional files can have any name of course :)
