the game is pretty much unplayable, there is constant noise and graphics bugs, movement and physics is compltely unstable; I started the game and the second cart started spinning in the air at a super high speed and killed everyone it touched. I've tried reinstalling the game multiple times, installing it to a different harddrive but it doesn't change anything.

What kind of framerates are you getting? THis can happen when the frame rates are too high. Vsync can be used to limit that.
