ever felt there was something wrong with the Ruins of Washington DC

i do , there is just too much leftwell i suppose it is becaise of the story and it is a fictional world

but

the capitol is relative intact and even the pentagon is still there i found that a bit wierd especially after reaading a old scientific report written by FEMA during the mid eighties about the effect of a global nuclear war on the USA, during a time the soviet union alone had a estimated 35 000 warheads 2/3 destined for militarty, political , indusreial and popultion targets in the USA, that s alot of megatons , true even if the majority are aimed at the midwest , mainly the areas of missouri , kansas and the states north west , still leave alot of warheads per major city and i do not mean mini nukes , but several dozen 1 megaton or bigger warheads per major city

this of course assuming our own rl cold war nuclear political and strategic thinking ( MAD priciple ) isn't much different as in the FO universe

btw acoding to that same report nevada and las vegaswould be relative untouched by direct strikes

The only trouble is if you portrayed the landscape in a completely nuked / wiped out state there might not be much around worth exploring, could lead to a very un-interesting game. I don't know if it's been talked about before, but in the Fallout universe did they have Hydrogen bombs, or were they just straight out fission bombs?
