The title says it all. I'd like to get a screensaver since this computer's screensavers aren't very eye appealing. However, I'm leery of just clicking a site. Does anyone know a site that's a trustable source? (Don't just google it and post a link to some random screenshot thread please.)

Why do you even need a screen saver? Those things are obsolete not that computers have power off functions. The only reason that they were used in the early days was because it could permanently burn an image into your monitor if it was left on the same screen for too long. But now that we have the power off function available, that's not an issue. In fact, you're better off not using one since as long as it's active your monitor remains on and wasting energy.

Let me chime in on this

1) He has an older pc for gaming with an old monitor

2) He just likes them

Oddly enough, store bought computer brands continue to put screensavers in their systems even though those things are no longer needed. My monitor just goes black when not in use while being turned on after maybe 15 minutes or so. I think the only reason companies like Acer keep screensavers around is because people would freak out if they didn't have one. Don't want to kill grandma by forgetting a screensaver in the machine, now do we?
