...until a few days ago when load times began to slow down. Now it takes almost a min to load a save spot .... So it must be the mods cause it's NOT my hardware. I decided to do an uninstall and start from scratch. I have read several articles about this and I do know that I have to uninstall the client and erase all files and saves and ...etc.... I'm sure u get the picture...
So since it take a long time to dl the client from steam, I decided to read some more and stumbled on this.
It's from another forum but was posted yrs ago if I'm not mistake. Is this still viable. Will I be able to play then modded vanilla game if I follow this?
"Instead of reinstalling, try returning the game to it's vanilla state. Rename the data folder to something else (oldata or whatever you choose) then create a new Data folder and COPY do not move the following files back into the new data folder.
Music (folder)
Shaders (folder)
Video (folder)
Credits.txt - probably not needed
Fallout-MenuVoices.bsa
Fallout-Meshes.bsa
Fallout-Misc.bsa
Fallout-sound.bsa
Fallout-Textures.bsa
Fallout-Voices.bsa
Fallout3.esm
That should put the game back to it's original pre mods state. Now start the game and make a save. (its a PITA waiting through all of the intro cut scenes but wait if you must)
Now start adding mods, ONE at a time and testing between each one,
Comments pls
Thanks
