Anyone else know about this game? It's made by a guy who was involved with TES development some time ago and was described as "Morrowind meets Elite".
I'm going to download it later today a give it a spin
It's some sort of Space game. Not really a trade simulator like X or Elite. Similar I guess to the likes of No Mans Sky or FTL, but with very stylized visuals. Combat looks fun and arcadey (which I love).
I'm going to give a brief run-down of what I do know about it.
It has seemless planet-to-space transition
you can walk freely around your ship and add/modify rooms
there are AI ships to fight with
Rooms can catch fire due to damage
different stations can be manned for better control over certain systems
next update will add atmosphere to ship (o2 breaches, etc)
full solar system to check out with lots of asteroids
QUOTE from PC gamer about it
"Additionally, in the very long run I'd like to develop Rodina to the point where there are cities, NPCs, factions and quests; make it like an RPG that just happens to let you fly spaceships. At that point, it may seem to have a lot more in common with the Elder Scrolls than with Star Fox."
Brendan's love of The Elder Scrolls goes beyond his time at Bethesda, where he worked as a programmer on Oblivion and Fallout 3. Rodina is primarily being influenced by a much earlier game in the series. "Daggerfall, with its massive world and procedural content, was a big inspiration. Daggerfall was really a game before it's time and I think it was a really interesting bridge between a hand crafted story and a completely procedural experience."
