Skyrim not launching properly

Post » Sun Jul 27, 2014 2:06 am

When I try to launch Skyrim (using SKSE), the Bethesda logo functions normally, and the Imperial Dragon emblem appears, but the menu itself is entirely missing, and I have no choice but to open the task manager and close the game. I've tried verifying the integrity of the game cache, I've tried praying to Vivec, and I've had no success. Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this?

Is steam running in the background before launching skse?

Were you able to run the game before installing skse?

Where is skse located? It needs to be in the main Skyrim game folder where the main game launcher is located.

also it might help us if you could run dxdiag.exe and post that in spoilers.

Hmm, probably you have a mod conflict and not a problem with SKSE. I'm guessing you installed SKSE in order to use some mods, YES ???

-Steam is running

-The game ran before I installed SKSE (almost a year ago)

-SKSE is located in the correct folder, and has worked in the past

- I don't think this is a mod conflict, because I haven't changed any mods since the last time the game worked.

(read above posts too)

I would still try disabling your mods and see if the issue goes away. In addition to unchecking all your mods, you want to rename these folders in the data folder: Interfaces, textures, meshes, scripts. You can also try renaming music and sounds.
