For the "Behold Shadowmere" part of the quest Cure for Madness, shadowmere isn't showing up. I can hear him but can't see him, and the lake continuously bubbles but no shadowmere I've tried luring enemies, fast traveling to every stable and back, even reloading but it does not work. I never owned a horse before this besides frost, who died long before I started DB quests.

I'm thinking maybe my game is just corrupted since this isn't the first quest related glitch I've ran into, but I've been looking it up and saw someone say shadowmere appeared after they finished the DB quest. I didn't want to continue them without shadowmere, but if there's a possibility of it working I will. Anyone have any advice? I didn't want to restart until I buy legendary.

are you on a pc with mods?

it sounds like the scene to spawn shadowmare just isn't happening. But if your on the pc you should be able to spawn him through the console.

Can you reload to before this happens? Some scripted scenes get messed up (I dunno if this is one, as I've never done the DB) and will work properly if you just reload to before the scripted part happens.
