the attitudes of some people..

I can understand that people are in bad moods from time-to-time (as I am on occasion), but why is it people choose to act out when in such a mood? when I am in a bad mood I try my hardest to put on a bright face and be civil regardless..

example:

so, I went down to the local "specialty shop" in town that Specializes in Comics, Manga, Anime, JRPGs and tabletop games to pick up an order I had placed a few weeks prior..

I went in and asked the manager (who I am on a first name basis with since we used to play D&D) if my order arrived or not, he was about to go check out back when an older Gentleman walked in:

I said to the Manager "naah Eian, take care of that guy first, I'll just browse around"..
this older Gentleman asked if they had a Specific Issue of a Manga in stock, to which the Manager began to check the system...

this Gentleman looked at me and said "I am assuming you are picking something up for a little brother or something..?",
to which I responded "Naah, picking up a few Magic Cards I ordered as well as a few Manga to read.."

the gentleman than proceeded to give me a wtf? look, and asked "you gotta be what. 19?"
Me: "Mid 20s Actually, why?"
Gentleman: "Don't you think its time you grow up and act like someone your age?"

I was utterly shocked, why would the guy question someone for liking that kinda stuff, in a store that is for that kind of stuff?

The Manager looked up "Nahh, we don't have that issue instock as of now, I can order it in for you though.."

this older Gentleman than spat on the counter, knocked over a small Comic Book rack and stormed out.. to which I began to pick the stuff off the ground...

see, I don't understand why someone would act out in such a way... regardless of how you are feeling, i always see it as your duty as a productive member of Society to still be civil to be around..

whats your opinion? do you believe that even when you are ticked the F off you should still put on a bright face, and try and remain decent to be around?

There is no excuse for taking your anger out on people who did not cause it.

LOL WTF?

I get made fun of for buying comics and what not by coworkers but its in fun. They get its a hobby. That guy was a hypocritical jack-ass.

Clearly you should start going to professional sporting events and ask guys with younger relatives, "you're just here for him, right?" and then say "watching a childish ball game? don't you think you should be acting your age?"

How much to you want to bet that the Manga he was looking for was actually for him and not for his kid. Self loathing.

But yeah, there's no reason to be such a dike to people. People who were trying to help you.

I think it is implied the guy was picking up the manga for someone else.
