thats great. There is simply not enough objective- based games on the market. Of course fps should be about shooting, but k/d whoring is so widespread , that would be so nice to have the game forcing ppl to out- focus from k/d.
I agree. I play Battle Field Bad Company 2 and they also have a similar philosophy. I play Rush mode primarily, I don't know if anyone else plays Rush but when you are on defense you get unlimited lives and when you play offense you get 75 so the amount of time you die counts. When I play offense I'm usually a medic, because when you revive your teammates brings your team life count back up.
Most importantly when the game is over no one can see your individual K/D just the points you have scored. I think stats have turned a lot of people wouldn't have cared in the first place into feverish campers and other such non-sense. The most evident of this problem is objective game in COD where no one is even going for the objective and just framing kills. I was in a room once where a guy who was camping got 43 kills in a match a of demolition and his team lost.
The same thing happens in BFBC2 also. It is especially frustrating when your squad mates are all trying to snipe from 200 meters away from the objective and you are trying to plant a bomb.
I'm also glad that sniping has taken a back seat in this game also.
