After a quick search on both the forums and google, I failed to find this topic. Maybe I just svck as searching and missed something in the search (entirely possible), but I haven't found it brought up before. Anyway, a few hours ago I just finished watching the movie Riddike(2013). I watched it once in theaters, but haven't seen it since. Anyway, I had just started playing Fallout 3 again since, oh way back when it was released, and just acquired Dogmeat. When I did, I noticed a neat little easter egg, or at least, what I believe was an intentional easter egg.
(Minor movie spoiler, for those who haven't seen Riddike.)
In the movie, Riddike acquires and tames a wild dog-like creature that becomes his companion. You can tell his dog apart from the others because it's left eye is blue, and it's right eye is the normal copper color like the other dog-creatures.
Anyway, when Dogmeat just approached me in the game, I noticed his eyes were exactly the same. His left eye is blue, and his right eye a copper color. So is it safe to assume that the Riddike Dog is paying tribute to Fallout and Dogmeat? I'm thinking that's the case.
